Job summary

Synectics for Management Decisions Inc. in the Washington DC area seeks a Data Steward responsible for governing large-scale enterprise data platforms for a government agency. This is a remote position with periodic on-site reporting as required; eligibility for federal work and security clearance is relevant.

You will build data dictionaries, catalogs, and metadata policies, classify dark data, and help ensure data lineage and AI reliability by collaborating with mission domain leads.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data governance, metadata management, or enterprise information architecture.
• Hands-on expertise with enterprise catalog tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation, or Apache Atlas).
• Familiarity with federal data governance mandates (e.g., Foundations for Evidence-Based Policymaking Act)

We're looking for a Data Steward with experience with large scale enterprise data platforms for a government agency located in the Washington DC metro area. This is a remote position; however, staff may be required to report onsite periodically based on client and business requirements. Position is contingent upon contract award.

Overview

Oversees enterprise cataloging, uncovers dark data, and establishes data lineage to guarantee data trust across operational business lines.

Additional Requirements

Salary range for this position is $120,000.00 - $170,000.00

Work Authorization

Government customer requires U.S. citizenship to work on the program. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
