Job Goal:
The Data Specialist supports the library’s data collection, analysis, and reporting efforts by compiling statistical and demographic information, identifying trends, and developing reports and visualizations. This position ensures accurate and timely reporting while helping turn library data into meaningful information that supports planning, decision-making, and the evaluation of library services and initiatives.
Must be able to stand, kneel, walk, reach, stoop, and lift up to 35 pounds as work activities, programming, setup, and daily responsibilities require. Work may occur in environments containing dust and mildew and with varying lighting and noise levels. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
Primarily an office and library work environment involving data collection, analysis, reporting, and collaboration with staff across departments and locations. Work requires accuracy, attention to detail, organization, and the ability to communicate data and findings clearly to a variety of audiences.
Vacation, disability, and personal days are granted annually pursuant to KCKPS Board Policies (GARH – Absences, Leave, and Vacation). Salary is based on KCKPL’s classification and salary schedule, with final placement based on qualifications and experience. Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and additional hours as needed is required.
