The Data Specialist forms the core of the Litigation Technology Unit (LTU), partnering with prosecutors and paralegals throughout the discovery lifecycle. From early‑case assessment through trial presentation, the Specialist orchestrates the collection, processing, review, analysis, and production of electronically stored information (ESI). Success demands expert command of Relativity, Nuix, IPRO, CloudNine LAW, CaseMap/TimeMap, and TrialDirector; meticulous data integrity controls; and the poise to deliver under tight court deadlines in a high‑volume federal prosecution environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesOverview
The Data Specialist forms the core of the Litigation Technology Unit (LTU), partnering with prosecutors and paralegals throughout the discovery lifecycle. From early‑case assessment through trial presentation, the Specialist orchestrates the collection, processing, review, analysis, and production of electronically stored information (ESI). Success demands expert command of Relativity, Nuix, IPRO, CloudNine LAW, CaseMap/TimeMap, and TrialDirector; meticulous data integrity controls; and the poise to deliver under tight court deadlines in a high‑volume federal prosecution environment.
Key Responsibilities·Consult with litigation teams on ESI strategy, discovery obligations, and Technology‑Assisted Review (TAR) workflows.
·Collect, process, and load ESI from agencies, defendants, and third parties; ensure chain‑of‑custody and metadata preservation.
·Perform hands‑on file manipulation, conversion, culling, deduplication, and quality checks; troubleshoot ingestion errors.
·Administer Relativity workspaces (security, analytics, structured analytics, batching, searches, productions).
·Generate privilege logs, exception logs, and analytics reports; prepare productions in load‑ready formats.
·Train end‑users on litigation support platforms; provide desk‑side and remote support during discovery reviews.
·Build and operate TrialDirector databases; coordinate courtroom presentation technology for hearings, mediations, and trials.
·Maintain 98percent accuracy and on‑time delivery against established LTU performance standards.
Required Qualifications·Bachelor’s degree (or three additional years of directly relevant experience).
·3+ years in litigation support/e‑discovery, preferably within a federal agency, law firm, or top‑tier vendor.
·Demonstrated Administrator‑level expertise in Relativity, including Case Manager functions.
·Proficiency with Nuix, IPRO Eclipse, CloudNine LAW PreDiscovery, Concordance, CaseMap, TimeMap, and Adobe Acrobat.
·Deep understanding of the EDRM lifecycle, DOJ discovery protocols, and Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure.
·Excellent analytical writing and verbal communication; proven ability to juggle multiple matters under tight deadlines.
·U.S. citizenship and eligibility for Public‑Trust clearance.
Preferred Qualifications·Relativity Certified Administrator (RCA) or RelativityOne Certified Pro; ACEDS or CEDS credential.
·Experience designing TAR workflows and leveraging AI‑driven analytics.
·Familiarity with SQL, Python, or PowerShell scripting for data automation.
·Prior support of complex white‑collar, cyber‑crime, or multi‑district litigation.
Education & Certifications• Bachelor’s (minimum) in Information Systems, Computer Science, Criminal Justice, or related field.
• Advanced degree or professional certificate in Digital Forensics, Data Analytics, or Project Management is a plus.
Clearance RequirementsU.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a favorably adjudicated DOJ Public‑Trust background investigation (Tier2 or Tier4, as designated). Candidates must satisfy the DOJ three‑of‑five‑year residency rule and complete all pre‑employment security checks (e‑QIP, fingerprints, credit report, OF‑306, self‑reporting form).
