Job description

Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY The Data Specialist serves as the customer-facing data and analytics expert for the TTM commercial team, translating clinical and utilization data into compelling insights that support account growth, retention, and expansion. This role partners directly with Territory Managers and Territory Sales Specialists to prepare and deliver customer-facing data presentations, including utilization reports, outcomes trends, and benchmarking analyses that demonstrate value to hospital stakeholders and support renewal, expansion, and value analysis committee conversations. The Data Specialist is also a key voice in positioning BD's data and analytics capabilities as a differentiated part of the TTM commercial offering, incorporating data-driven storytelling into sales presentations, proposals, and account reviews to strengthen BD's competitive position. In addition, this individual represents BD in customer-facing webinars and virtual education sessions, presenting analytics insights and platform capabilities to clinical and administrative audiences. Success in this role requires the ability to translate complex data into a clear, persuasive customer narrative, comfort presenting directly to external stakeholders, and close collaboration with Sales, Marketing, and Clinical teams to ensure data insights are positioned as a strategic differentiator.

Essential Functions of the Position
  • Partner with Territory Managers and Territory Sales Specialists to prepare and deliver customer-facing data presentations, including utilization reports, outcomes trends, and benchmarking analyses, for account reviews and business planning meetings.
  • Present TTM data and analytics insights directly to hospital stakeholders, including clinical leadership, administration, and value analysis committees, to support renewal, expansion, and new business conversations.
  • Represent BD in customer-facing webinars and virtual education sessions, presenting analytics capabilities and data-driven insights to clinical and administrative audiences.
  • Incorporate data storytelling into sales presentations and proposals, positioning BD's data and analytics offering as a differentiated component of the TTM value proposition.
  • Translate raw utilization, clinical, and outcomes data into clear, customer-ready narratives and visualizations tailored to the audience (clinical vs. administrative vs. financial stakeholders).
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Clinical teams to align data presentations with account strategy, protocol goals, and broader commercial messaging.
  • Create, customize, and maintain reporting templates, dashboards, and presentation materials used in customer-facing settings, ensuring accuracy and consistency across the field.
  • Field data-related questions from customers during meetings and webinars, providing credible, real‑time interpretation of trends and metrics.
  • Gather customer feedback on data and analytics needs, relaying insights to Sales Leadership and Marketing to refine the data offering over time.
  • Support the launch and promotion of new analytics capabilities or platform features through customer-facing communication and training.
  • Travel to accounts and industry events as needed to deliver in‑person data presentations and represent BD's analytics capabilities.
Minimum Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, data analytics, healthcare administration, life sciences, or related field required.
  • Advanced degree (MBA, MS in Analytics, or related) a plus but not required.
  • Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a customer‑facing analytics, sales enablement, or clinical/commercial data role, ideally within medical device, healthcare technology, or a related industry.
  • Demonstrated experience presenting data insights directly to external stakeholders (customers, clinical leadership, administrators, or value analysis committees).
  • Experience supporting sales presentations, proposals, or webinars with data‑driven content.
  • Familiarity with hospital utilization data, clinical outcomes reporting, or healthcare analytics strongly preferred.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong data storytelling skills — able to translate complex datasets into clear, persuasive narratives for non‑technical audiences.
  • Confident, polished public speaking and presentation skills, with comfort presenting live to external customers and on webinars.
  • Proficiency with data visualization and presentation tools (e.g., Power BI, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong business acumen; able to connect data trends to commercial strategy and customer value.
  • Excellent collaboration skills to work cross‑functionally with Sales, Marketing, and Clinical teams.
  • Highly organized, able to manage multiple account requests and customize materials under deadline pressure.
Other Requirements
  • Ability to travel 50%-75% to customer accounts and industry events as needed, including overnight travel.
  • Comfortable presenting in both in-person and virtual/webinar formats.
  • Ability to meet hospital vendor credentialing requirements for on‑site customer visits (immunizations, background checks, badging systems, etc.).
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate a motor vehicle for travel.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to support team and customer needs across time zones.
