Job summary

HCVT is seeking a Data Specialist to gather, cleanse, organize, and map financial data for customized systems and vendor software. You will analyze data for patterns, build reports and visualizations, and support DB design while adapting to changing priorities.

Ideal candidates are proficient in Excel, MS SQL, and Microsoft BI, with strong analytical and communication skills, and a customer-service mindset. Hybrid work flexibility is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree as required; accounting education/experience a plus.
• Proficient with Excel and MS SQL; other programming languages a plus.
• Experience using Microsoft BI technologies.
• Self-starter able to work independently.
• Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; can explain complex tech to non-tech.
• Customer service oriented.
• Flexible with hours during busy season and after-hours/weekends if needed.

As a Data Specialist, you will be responsible for the following:

• Works collaboratively with implementation and development teams to gather, cleanse, organize and map financial data for custom developed systems and vendor software
• Analyzes data for patterns and business insights
• Builds reports and data visualizations
• Supports design and build of financial databases / systems
• Participates in change management and release management

To be successful, these are the skills and experience you will need:

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, accounting, or related field required; accounting education / experience a plus
• Highly proficient using Excel and MS SQL; other programming languages a plus
• Demonstrable experience using Microsoft Business Intelligence technologies
• Self-starter with ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and creative thinking skills
• Excellent written, oral communication and documentation skills; able to communicate complex technical answers to non-technical people
• Customer service-oriented
• Flexible with changes in hours during busy season and able to assist after hours / on weekends if needed
