Our client is a growing technology company operating at the intersection of data, financial markets, and real-world events. The organization is building a next-generation platform designed to turn real-world events into timely, data-driven insights.
We are seeking a highly analytical Data Specialist to support a growing product and listings organization. This person will play a critical role in evaluating opportunities across areas such as sports, economics, finance, politics, and other major events.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data, writing code, building automated data pipelines, and turning complex information into clear, actionable recommendations.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and evaluate incoming requests and help organize and prioritize the intake pipeline.
- Research and evaluate data sources needed to support new opportunities and business decisions.
- Build and maintain programmatic data pipelines to retrieve, clean, structure, and analyze data from APIs and other web-based sources.
- Analyze large and complex datasets to identify meaningful trends, opportunities, demand, and potential risks.
- Produce clear, data-driven reports and recommendations for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Track upcoming events, announcements, and other developments across sports, economics, finance, politics, and related markets.
- Build reusable frameworks, dashboards, and monitoring tools to support ongoing analysis and decision-making.
- Partner closely with product, engineering, and business teams to support data infrastructure and automation initiatives.
- Help automate data gathering, analysis, and reporting workflows.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to support planning, prioritization, and delivery timelines.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Economics, or another quantitative discipline.
- 3-5 years of experience in Data Analytics, Data Science, Quantitative Analysis, Data Engineering, or a similar role.
- Strong hands-on programming experience with Python or a similar language.
- Experience retrieving, cleaning, and analyzing data programmatically.
- Experience working with APIs and web-based data sources.
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with large and complex datasets.
- Ability to identify meaningful insights and translate data into clear recommendations.
- Experience creating reports, dashboards, or analyses for non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Experience in one or more of the following areas is a plus:
- Financial services or trading
- Quantitative analysis
- Sports analytics or sports betting
- Market research
- Economics or financial data
- Data pipelines and automation
An interest in and familiarity with sports, economics, financial markets, elections, or current events is also highly valued.
