Job summary

Axon is seeking a Data Solutions Engineer II, Data Conversion, to architect and deliver robust data conversion and ingestion solutions for public safety partners. You will transform data from legacy systems, map schemas, and ensure accuracy across ingestion, transformation, and delivery validation.

You will travel to client sites, work onsite Tue–Fri with remote Mondays, and report to the Data Solutions Engineering Manager. Strong SQL, Python, REST, and Azure skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical experience or coding boot camp
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, Bash, GraphQL, and Azure Cloud tools
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL
• Data-mapping for ETL and data ingestion/ transformation
• Experience delivering production systems in regulated environments

Responsibilities

• Develop data mappings, transformation logic, and conversion scripts for agency legacy data
• Execute and monitor end-to-end data ingestions with QA and issue resolution
• Perform database analysis, schema mapping, and data profiling; travel to client sites
• Restore database copies and manage data environments for conversion
• Serve as client-facing technical expert for data conversion engagements
• Collaborate with product management, sales, and engineering to understand goals
• Leverage AI tools to optimize conversion processes and efficiency
• Create reusable templates, scripts, and configurations to improve the platform
