A leading global financial services firm is seeking an Experienced Data Solution Architect to join its Data Architecture & Modeling team in New York, NY. This role sits at the center of enterprise data strategy and offers high visibility across senior leadership, bankers, and cross‑functional technical teams.

Details:

• 6-month contract (Extension Highly Likely)
• Compensation: $80 - $100 per hour
• NYC, NY | Hybrid | 3 Days On-Site

Responsibilities:

• Partner with senior stakeholders to capture workflows, define data domains, and map business requirements.
• Design logical and semantic data models that align with enterprise data architecture.
• Define key attributes, hierarchies, and rules for core datasets (funds, sponsors, coverage, deals, etc.).
• Explore, validate, and shape raw data using SQL, Python, and Databricks.
• Collaborate with data engineers on ingestion, transformations, and enrichment.
• Prototype transformations and pipelines before handing off to engineering for production builds.
• Present models, gather feedback, and iterate to ensure accuracy and alignment.
• Serve as a bridge between business partners and technical teams.

Mandatory Requirements:

• 6+ years of experience in data architecture, solution design, or hybrid business/data roles.
• 5+ years of experience in SQL, Python, PySpark.
• 3+ years of experience with Databricks.
• Understands data modeling, semantics, ontologies, and MDM best practices.
• Knows how to translate complex data concepts into actionable design for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable balancing strategic design with hands‑on prototyping.
