Job summary

Avalore is seeking a Data & Software Engineer to join a small team and build complex data flows for a custom application. The candidate will possess advanced Python skills, familiarity with Java, and experience delivering production data pipelines and ETL workflows at scale.

Responsibilities include orchestration, Spark jobs, containerized deployment in AWS, and working with MySQL/PostgreSQL/Trino, data catalogs and lineage. Bash scripting and AI/ML integration are a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data engineering or related field.
• Hands-on experience building end-to-end data pipelines with Python.
• Experience with Spark, PySpark, and orchestration tools like Airflow.
• Containerization and cloud deployment in AWS.
• Strong SQL skills (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Trino).
• Familiarity with NoSQL (DynamoDB) and data cataloging.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement data pipelines and ETL workflows.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate data requirements into scalable solutions.
• Identify and resolve data quality, performance, and reliability issues.
• Contribute to data engineering best practices and documentation.
