Job summary

Illumination Works LLC is seeking a Data Services Developer to build and enhance the data connections, APIs, and integration services enabling a new UI to securely interact with an existing system. You will help create the service layer that connects modernized workflows to enterprise data.

Responsibilities include designing APIs, secure connections, REST services, data mappings, and interfaces with trading partners and DoD data sources, while aligning with security and deployment standards.

Qualifications

• Design, develop, modify, and maintain system-level APIs, web services, backend services, and data integration components.
• Build secure service connections between the new user interface and data, business logic, validation, and transactional capabilities.
• Develop and consume REST APIs and web services that support reliable, scalable, and performant application and data interactions.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate existing data feeds and interfaces to identify limitations in data visibility, timeliness, accuracy, and transaction capability.
• Develop or enhance interfaces with trading partners and DoD data sources using approved integration methods such as web-service APIs, database links, AFSC Data Services (ADS), SFTP, and IBM MQ.
• Develop data mappings, transformations, validation logic, and processing services needed to aggregate information from multiple maintenance and enterprise systems.
• Work with developers, UI developers, data engineers, enterprise architects, cybersecurity personnel, and Government stakeholders to define interface requirements and integration approaches.
• Support development and maintenance of Interface Control Documents (ICDs), system change requests, interface specifications, and technical documentation.
• Ensure integrations align with existing authentication, authorization, role-based access, security, deployment, and software-development standards.
• Develop and execute unit and integration testing; support regression testing, performance validation, UAT, demonstrations, and release activities.
• Use Git and modern source-control workflows and participate in Agile development, code reviews, backlog refinement, and iterative releases.

We are looking for a Data Services Developer to build and enhance the data connections, APIs, and integration services that enable a new user interface to securely interact with an existing system. • Acceptable candidates must successfully pass a drug test and background screen

Desired skills for this position:

• Active Secret Clearance preferred
• Experience integrating with Oracle databases and Java-based enterprise applications
• Experience with API design, service-oriented or microservice architectures, and enterprise integration patterns
• Experience with database links, SFTP, IBM MQ, data warehouses, or other enterprise data exchange technologies
• Experience with DoD/Air Force logistics, maintenance, ERP, or MRO systems
• Experience supporting secure DoD environments, RMF/ATO requirements, CAC authentication, or role-based access controls
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, observability, and performance monitoring
• Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate technical interfaces across multiple system owners and trading partners
