Job summary

Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce in Chicago seeks a Data Security Consultant to strengthen governance, manage risk, and mature data security across the enterprise. You will work with technology, risk, compliance, legal, and business stakeholders to apply practical controls in data environments.

You will balance governance with technical advisory across cloud, analytics, and emerging tech, helping teams align security with enterprise priorities and regulatory expectations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in information security, data security, cyber security, risk management, or a related field.
• Experience across governance and technical advisory responsibilities in a complex environment.
• Knowledge of governance frameworks, control design, and compliance expectations.
• Experience with data discovery platforms and DSPM solutions are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance data security frameworks, standards, and control requirements.
• Assess data security risks, review control effectiveness, and support oversight activities.
• Provide guidance to technology and project teams on data security requirements and best practices.
• Support the evolution of data security capabilities including DSPM and Databricks/Azure controls.
