Job summary

WOOD Federal Solutions, located in Fort Meade, Maryland, is seeking a Data Scientist Level 1 to join our team. The role focuses on producing data visualizations, collaborating with SMEs to identify insights from diverse data formats, and translating qualitative goals into quantitative analytics.

You will develop statistical, machine learning, and heuristic techniques for descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics, and perform statistical tests to guide data-driven decisions. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline and four years of data analytics experience; or a Master’s degree substituting two years of experience; or eight years total experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience programming with data analysis software such as R, Python, SAS, or MATLAB.
• Four years of experience analyzing datasets and developing analytics; Master’s may substitute two years of experience; additional substitution rules apply.

Responsibilities

• Produce data visualizations that provide insight into dataset structure and meaning.
• Collaborate with SMEs to identify important information in raw data and develop extraction scripts.
• Incorporate SME input into feature vectors for analytics development and testing.
• Translate qualitative goals into quantitative formulations coded into software prototypes.
• Develop and implement statistical, machine learning, and heuristic techniques for descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics.
• Develop statistical tests to support data-driven recommendations.
