Job summary

Raytheon in Plano, TX seeks a Data Scientist to support Radar Sensor Systems (RSS). You will apply data science and software engineering methods for production-scale internal use and external research, collaborating with the Applied AI team to develop analytic products across manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain.

An onsite role in Plano, TX is required. Responsibilities include designing visualizations, data analysis, ML for data cleaning and feature engineering, and automation to scale

Qualifications

• STEM degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience
• Python development with numpy, scipy, scikit-image, scikit-learn
• Databases management and SQL development
• Experience with software development, documentation, testing, bug tracking, version control, and MLOps
• Active DoD Top Secret security clearance and U.S. citizenship required

Responsibilities

• Design and develop data visualizations using PowerBI, Tableau, or similar tools
• Perform data analysis on large, complex data sets and generate actionable reports
• Use databases for data input, reporting, and data management
• Apply machine learning for data cleaning, EDA, and visualization
• Implement feature engineering to provide metrics supporting decisions
• Automate processes to improve efficiency and scalability with large datasets
• Collaborate with engineering teams to communicate findings and address challenges
• Conduct analysis across all system lifecycle phases from concept to maintenance
• Interface with stakeholders including customers and senior leadership to support data-driven strategies

Raytheon is seeking a Data Scientist to supportRadar Sensor Systems (RSS).As a Data Scientist, you will work across functional areas to support the application of data science and software engineering methods and techniques for production-scale internal use and external research. You will collaborate with stakeholders across and the Applied Artificial Intelligence team to develop analytic products for agile delivery, spanning manufacturing, engineering, business development, and supply chain functions. This role allows you to influence organizational standards by researching and deploying technical solutions for customers as part of a broader ecosystem of machine learning and advanced analytics professional.This is an onsite role inPlano, TX.

What You Will Do:

• Design and develop data visualizations using tools such asPowerBI, Tableau, or similar platforms to communicate insights effectively.

• Perform data analysis on large, complex data sets, generating actionable reports and recommendations.

• Utilize experience with various databases for data input, report generation, and data management.

• Apply machine learning algorithms for data cleaning, exploratory data analysis, and data visualization.

• Implement data reduction, feature selection, and feature engineering techniques to provide metrics that support evidence-based decision-making.

• Automate processes to enhance efficiency and scalability in handling large datasets.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to communicate findings and address technical challenges.

• Conduct analysis at all phases of the system lifecycle, including concept, design, modeling, testing, operation, and maintenance.

• Interface with stakeholders, including customers, programming management, and senior leadership, to support data-driven strategies.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) disciplineand a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience

• Python development (numpy,scipy, scikit-image, and scikit-learn) for integration into statistical and/or machine learning applications (beyond academic examples).

• Databases management and SQL development.

• Experience with software development, including documentation, testing, bug tracking, version control, andMLOps

• Active and transferable U.S. government issuedDoDTopSecret security clearance isrequiredprior to start date. U.S. citizenship isrequired, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Active DoD Top Secret clearance with investigation within five years

• Advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM preferred)

• Programming languages and tools such as Python, scikit-learn,Jupyter, SQL (Microsoft SQL, MySQL), Tableau, and R.

• Model Based Systems Engineering (Cameo Enterprise Architecture (SysMLspecifically), digital thread concepts, digital engineering, MBSE withDevSecOps).

• Diagnoses and resolve RF and system power issues

• MATLAB/Simulink, DOORS, DNG, Cameo, Jira, and Confluence

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
