Job summary

AVNIK Defense Solutions, Inc. seeks a Data Scientist or Data Analyst to support sustainment engineering analysis using USG Modeling & Simulation tools for DEVCOM AvMC.

This onsite role at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL focuses on logistics, sustainment, and procurement analysis for Army Aviation and Missile systems, including data extraction, analysis, and customer briefings. Responsibilities include developing pipelines, delivering technical analyses, and producing clear customer briefings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related field, plus 5+ years of experience
• MS degree may substitute for 2 years of experience
• US Citizen
• Advanced software development skills (e.g., Python) and experience with Git in a team environment
• Experience using databases with SQL queries
• Familiarization with Statistical Methods, analysis, and theory (Linear Regression, Confidence Intervals, Probability Distributions)
• Working knowledge of M&S theory (Discrete Event Simulation, Stochastic, Deterministic, Monte Carlo, Heuristic)
• Advanced skills with MS Office tools including Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to clean and parse large datasets
• Experience writing technical reports and developing customer briefings
• Self-starter with independence and strong work ethic
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
• Must hold Interim SECRET clearance at start and be able to obtain SECRET security clearance

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Operations Research, Engineering (Aerospace, Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, etc.), Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field, plus 5+ years of experience
• MS degree may substitute for 2 years of experience
• Additional relevant experience may substitute for the degree in accordance with the applicable contract labor category
• US Citizen
• Advanced software development skills (e.g., Python) and experience using version control (Git) in a team environment
• Experience using databases with SQL queries
• Familiarization with Statistical Methods, analysis, and theory (Linear Regression, Confidence Intervals, Probability Distributions)
