Job summary

Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD) seeks a Data Scientist Supervisor to lead statewide reporting and analytics, guiding decision-making and program performance.

You will manage a team, using Tableau, Power BI, Salesforce, Python, R, and SQL to turn data into actionable insights, ensure compliance, and support modernization of data workflows.

Qualifications

  • 72 months experience or training in data analytics, statistical analysis, or research methods.
  • 12 months experience in supervisory &/or management principles & techniques.
  • Equivalent education/experience as noted above.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team delivering analytics with Tableau/Power BI/Python/SQL.
  • Ensure compliance with federal/state reporting and data governance.
  • Coordinate agency-wide reporting and align with stakeholders for analytics needs.
  • Prepare reports/presentations for internal and external audiences.

Position Overview

Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD) is seeking a Data Scientist Supervisor to advance our mission of empowering Ohioans with disabilities through high‑quality, data‑informed services. The role leads statewide reporting and analytics efforts, guiding decision‑making, program performance, and outcome initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Lead a team that develops accessible, accurate insights using tools such as Tableau, Salesforce, Power BI, Python, R, and SQL; monitor financial and operational priorities; ensure compliance with federal and state reporting requirements and OOD’s data governance standards; transform complex information into clear recommendations to strengthen program effectiveness, resource allocation, and strategic planning; coordinate agency‑wide reporting; collaborate with internal leaders to identify analytic needs; interview stakeholders to inform reporting structures; manage enhancements to employer‑related databases (AWARE, Tableau, Salesforce); support modernization initiatives for data ingestion, transformation, and visualization; direct employer‑related reporting activities; create Lean Six Sigma performance summaries; lead the federally required Comprehensive Statewide Needs Assessment; prepare reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders, including participation in statewide meetings.

Qualifications

72 months experience or training in data analytics, statistical analysis, or research methods AND 12 months experience in supervisory &/or management principles & techniques.

  • OR completion of an associate core program in data analytics, computer science, information systems, computer engineering, applied mathematics, statistics, industrial/systems engineering, or related field AND 54 months experience or training in data analytics, statistical analysis, or research methods AND 12 months experience in supervisory &/or management principles & techniques.
  • OR completion of an undergraduate core program in data analytics, computer science, information systems, computer engineering, applied mathematics, statistics, industrial/systems engineering, or related field AND 48 months experience in data analytics, statistical analysis, or research methods AND 12 months experience in supervisory &/or management principles & techniques.
  • OR completion of a graduate core program in data analytics, computer science, information systems, computer engineering, applied mathematics, statistics, industrial/systems engineering, or related field AND 36 months experience or training in data analytics, statistical analysis, or research methods AND 12 months experience in supervisory &/or management principles & techniques.
  • OR equivalent of education and/or experience per Minimum Class Qualifications noted above.
Technical and Professional Skills

Data Analytics, Technical Writing, Data Visualization, Research, Software Development/Implementation, Project Management, Interpreting Data, Reasoning, Strategic Thinking, Written Communication.

Employment Conditions

All final applicants will be required to undergo a criminal background check. A urinalysis to detect restricted substances may also be required as a condition of employment. Positive results will result in ineligibility for employment unless medical documentation is provided. OOD is not an E‑Verify employer and will not sponsor applicants for work visas.

Pay Range

Step 1: $44.38/hour ($92,310.00 annually)

Step 2: $46.88/hour ($97,510.00 annually)

Step 3: $49.52/hour ($103,002.00 annually)

Step 4: $52.24/hour ($108,659.00 annually)

Step 5: $55.15/hour ($114,712.00 annually)

Step 6: $58.16/hour ($120,973.00 annually)

Step 7: $60.55/hour ($125,944.00 annually)

Step 8: $63.41/hour ($131,893.00 annually)

Location and Hours

Primary location: 150 OOD Campus, Columbus, Ohio. Employees must reside within reasonable travel distance for daytime travel within Ohio. Work hours are 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. Some roles may have adjusted on‑site requirements based on space availability.

Schedule

Full‑time, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM M-F.
