Job summary

Bluehawk LLC, Intelligence Services is seeking a Senior Data Scientist for Automation and AI to advance AI/ML capabilities that improve collection prioritization, tasking, and resource optimization.

You will partner with software engineers and mission stakeholders to translate CI/HUMINT requirements into explainable, operational analytical solutions while ensuring responsible AI practices and compliance with security and data governance.

Qualifications

• Senior-level experience in data science, ML/AI, predictive analytics, or related technical field.
• Proficiency in Python or R and common ML frameworks.
• Ability to develop, validate, and assess predictive/ML models on complex datasets.
• Knowledge of data prep, feature engineering, model evaluation, automation, and production integration.
• Ability to explain methods, assumptions, performance, and risks to mission/executive audiences.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Senior Data Scientist for Automation and Artificial Intelligence develops and evaluates AI and machine-learning capabilities that improve collection prioritization, tasking, resource optimization, and operational decision-making. The position partners with software engineers and mission stakeholders to translate CI/HUMINT requirements into responsible, explainable, and operationally useful analytical solutions.

• Apply AI technologies to identify and prioritize Essential Elements of Information aligned with national and defense priorities.
• Develop predictive models supporting collection management, resource optimization, and mission planning.
• Implement machine-learning methods for pattern recognition, anomaly detection, forecasting, and decision support.
• Support automation of tasking processes based on the optimal alignment of collectors, sources, and mission requirements.
• Establish feedback mechanisms that refine tasking and operational strategies using real-time data and iterative learning.
• Collaborate with software engineers on AI/ML prototype development, integration, deployment, and sustainment.
• Prepare, cleanse, transform, and analyze structured and unstructured data from multiple sources.
• Conduct model validation, performance assessment, error analysis, documentation, and continuous monitoring.
• Brief technical and mission stakeholders on model performance, limitations, risks, and operational implications.
• Apply responsible AI practices consistent with DoD AI Ethical Principles and applicable security and data-governance requirements.
• Senior-level experience in data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, predictive analytics, or a related technical field.
• Proficiency using Python, R, or comparable analytical languages and common data-science or machine-learning frameworks.
• Experience developing, validating, and assessing predictive or machine-learning models using complex datasets.
• Understanding of data preparation, feature engineering, model evaluation, automation, and production integration.
• Ability to explain technical methods, assumptions, performance, and limitations to mission and executive audiences.
• Strong analytical judgment, documentation skills, and ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with CI/HUMINT, collection management, intelligence requirements, or operational resource optimization.
• Experience building AI/ML capabilities in secure DoD or Intelligence Community environments.
• Knowledge of responsible AI, model governance, explainability, bias assessment, and secure AI development.

Clearance and Work Requirements

• Active TS/SCI CI Polygraph and ability to work on-site at the DIA Government SCIF in Reston, Virginia during COR-established working hours.
• Ability to comply with applicable DIA, DoD, Intelligence Community, cybersecurity, records-management, classification, and information-handling requirements.
• Ability to work effectively in a non-personal services environment in which contractor personnel remain accountable to contractor management.
