Data Scientist , Robotics Operations Data Solutions

As a data scientist in Global Robotics Delivery, you will dive deep into problems in manufacturing and supply chain science. You will design and deliver full-stack data science services to optimize robotics supply chain and manufacturing.

The Robotics Operations Data Solutions team supports manufacturing and supply chain operations for Amazon Robotics. We are looking for a results-oriented Data Scientist, who can own end-to-end data science solutions. The ideal data science candidate is equally committed to all parts of the data science process; from deep-diving business analytics for exploratory data analysis, designing metrics, modeling, and service deployment. A successful data scientist will have a superior command of advanced statistical modeling and machine learning techniques for supply chain optimization such as advanced regression methodologies, time-series analysis, forecasting, and more.

A successful candidate should have a background in stakeholder management and the design of end-to-end machine learning systems that include model deployment infrastructure and A/B testing. We are looking for a data who is able to work with stakeholders to understand problems, and is able to design and deliver full-stack systems and services. You will be supported by a cross functional team of software engineers, data engineers and data scientists.

Key job responsibilities

* Demonstrate mastery of data visualization and data story-telling
* Demonstrate an understanding of machine learning services
* Demonstrate results to customers in a full stack approach such as through Streamlit application development

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 1+ years of data scientist or similar role involving data extraction, analysis, statistical modeling and communication experience
- 1+ years of data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab, etc.) experience
- 2+ years of data/research scientist, statistician or quantitative analyst in an internet-based company with complex and big data sources experience
- Master's degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, data science, business analytics, economics, finance, engineering, or computer science, or Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of professional or military experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Knowledge of statistical packages and business intelligence tools such as SPSS, SAS, S-PLUS, or R
- Experience with clustered data processing (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Map-reduce, and Hive)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $97,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
