Job summary

Amazon Music seeks a Data Scientist for the DISCO MPT team to design and scale models that improve personalization and customer growth. You will lead modeling efforts for personalized recommendations, partner with product leaders to drive data-driven strategies, and collaborate acrossEntertainment and subscription teams to quantify impact and drive decisions.

The role requires strong ML, SQL, Python expertise, and a track record of applying theoretical models in real-world settings.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of data scientist experience.
• 3+ years of experience with data querying languages such as SQL, scripting languages such as Python, or statistical/mathematical software such as R, SAS, Matlab, etc.
• 3+ years of experience with machine learning/statistical modeling data analysis tools and techniques, including parameters that affect performance.
• 1+ years of guiding and coaching a group of researchers.
• 1+ years of working with or evaluating AI systems.
• 1+ years of creating or contributing to mathematical textbooks, research papers, or educational content.
• Experience applying theoretical models in an applied environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead research and development of models and science products for personalized recommendations.
• Partner with product leaders at Amazon Music to develop science-driven business strategies.
• Collaborate with science, marketing, and product teams across Amazon Entertainment and subscription businesses.
• Educate internal teams on analytics, insights, and measurement.
• Develop models to identify drivers of key performance metrics and automate deep dives into variances.
• Work with product and engineering teams to evaluate the impact of new features or algorithms.
• Analyze experiment results and provide recommendations to optimize solutions.
• Partner with Senior Data Scientists and Product Managers to define success metrics and guardrail metrics.
• Promote experimentation and advanced analytics across the organization.
