Job summary

Altamira Technologies is seeking a Data Scientist to design, implement, and maintain data pipelines and ML projects at Camp Lejeune, NC. The role blends data analysis and data engineering to interpret complex datasets and deliver actionable insights.

The candidate will work with cloud-native platforms, large-scale data ecosystems, and toolsets like Spark, Hadoop, Databricks, and visualization platforms. Strong programming in Python/R and experience with NLP, ML, and statistics are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field is required; Master’s preferred.
• Proficient in programming languages (Java, C++, Python, R).
• Proficient in Agile Development and Git Operations.
• TS/SCI clearance preferred; minimum SECRET clearance to start with ability to obtain TS/SCI.
• Demonstrated experience applying data science methods to real-world data problems.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and analyze data using exploratory statistical techniques.
• Coordinate research and analytic activities across structured and unstructured data.
• Develop predictive and prescriptive modeling, NLP, RPA, text mining, clustering, and forecasting.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers to build data environments and pipelines.
• Use Spark and Hadoop for large-scale processing; create visualizations with Tableau/Power BI/R Shiny.
• Communicate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
