Job summary

Altamira Technologies Corp. is seeking a Data Scientist in Camp Lejeune, NC, to design, implement, and maintain data pipelines and ML projects on cloud-native platforms.

The role combines data analysis, engineering, and modeling, using Python/R, Spark, Hadoop, and visualization tools to derive actionable insights for national security analytics. The ideal candidate will have a STEM degree (Bachelor’s required; Master’s preferred), proficiency in programming languages, and experience applying

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field is required; Master’s degree preferred in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, or related fields.
• Bachelor’s degree acceptable with training and verifiable work experience in related field.
• Proficient in programming languages (Java, C++, Python, R, etc.).
• Proficient in Agile Development and Git Operations.
• Demonstrated experience applying data science methods to real-world data problems.
• TS/SCI clearance is preferred
• Minimum SECRET Clearance to start with willingness and ability to obtain TS/SCI.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and analyze data using exploratory statistical techniques based on the scientific method.
• Coordinate research and analytic activities utilizing various data points and program data cleaning.
• Experiment against data points and provide solutions to data challenges.
• Coordinate with Data Engineers to build Data environments providing data identified by other data professionals.
• Apply statistics and algorithms to discover problems, hypotheses, and opportunities.
• Develop predictive and prescriptive modeling, NLP, RPA, text mining, clustering, forecasting.
• Design and automate processes to manipulate and analyze data across dissimilar datasets.
• Use Spark and Hadoop for large-scale data processing; create visualizations with Tableau, Power BI, and R Shiny.
• Research, design, and implement algorithms using R, Python (NumPy, SciPy, Pandas) or similar languages.
• Perform data processing and modeling on cloud platforms like Databricks, IBM Cloud Pak, Cloudera, Snowflake.
• Communicate complex concepts to non-technical audiences via digital storytelling.
