American Electric Power (AEP) invites motivated data science students to join as a summer intern in Columbus, OH. You will work on real datasets, learn from industry leaders, and contribute to projects that influence utility operations.

This role emphasizes mentorship, hands-on learning, and building practical skills with modern tools. You will develop statistical models, apply ML algorithms, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate insights into actionable business solutions.

Competenze

• Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Proficient in programming languages such as Python or R.
• Familiarity with data manipulation libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy) and ML frameworks (e.g., Scikit-learn, TensorFlow).
• Strong understanding of statistical concepts and data analysis techniques.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Must have completed at least your freshman year.
• Graduation date of December 2027 or later.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Willingness and ability to relocate for the summer to one of our internship locations, if necessary.
• This position is not eligible for sponsorship, OPT, or CPT.
