Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Economics, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 3 years of experience with statistical data analysis, data mining, and querying (e.g., SQL).
• At least 1 year of experience managing analytical projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5 years of experience with analysis applications (extracting insights, performing statistical analysis, solving business problems) and coding (Python, R, SQL).
• 4 years of experience as a data scientist, applying advanced analytics to planning and infrastructure problems.
• Experience in energy and climate domains or greenhouse gas accounting.

As a data enthusiast, you will serve as an analytics expert, using data to inform decision-making, storytelling, and recommendations for engineering and product teams.

Operations Data Science (ODS) is a team that provides model-based decision support to scale Google's technical infrastructure efficiently. In this role, you will collaborate with the Climate Operations team to ensure Google achieves Net Zero emissions and 24/7 carbon-free energy by 2030. You will define and coordinate Net Zero strategies, develop solutions for decarbonization, and serve as a technical liaison on energy and carbon issues.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $132,000-$189,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Salary is determined by role, location, skills, experience, and education. Your recruiter can provide specific salary details during hiring.

Responsibilities
