Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a Data Scientist Level 2 to support the VISTA (MT&E Team). This role develops ML, data mining, and statistical algorithms to analyze complex datasets and build scalable analytics for production workflows.

The candidate collaborates with SMEs, software engineers, and cloud developers to translate mission needs into data-driven solutions and to guide analytics toward scalable outcomes.}

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph.
• Proficiency in Python and R for data manipulation and algorithm implementation.
• Strong foundation in statistics and probability, including regression analysis and hypothesis testing.
• Knowledge of machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and Scikit-Learn.
• Experience with data wrangling and SQL databases.

Responsibilities

• Produce data visualizations that reveal dataset structure.
• Collaborate with SMEs to extract information from SQL tables, metadata, and logs.
• Convert SME input into feature vectors for analytics.
• Develop and apply statistical, ML, and heuristic techniques for descriptive, predictive, prescriptive analytics.
• Design statistical tests to support data-driven decisions.
• Develop experiments to collect or simulate data when needed.
• Identify and tune algorithm choices for datasets.
• Evaluate analytics using cross-validation, ROC curves, and confusion matrices.
• Guide analytics toward scalable, production-ready solutions.
