Job summary

Base-2 Solutions, LLC. is seeking a Data Scientist Level 2 to support the VISTA (MT&E Team).

This role develops ML, data mining, statistical, and graph-based algorithms to analyze complex datasets, build models, generate data-driven insights, and support the integration of analytics into production workflows. You will partner with SMEs, software engineers, and cloud developers to translate mission needs into scalable analytic solutions, produce visualizations, validate models, and guide

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph.
• Proficiency in Python and R for data manipulation and algorithm implementation.
• Strong statistics and probability foundation including regression, hypothesis testing.
• Knowledge of ML algorithms and frameworks such as TensorFlow and Scikit-Learn.
• Data wrangling and transforming complex datasets into usable formats.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
• Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau and Matplotlib.
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field and 5 years of analytics experience.
• 5 years programming with data analysis software (R, Python, SAS, or MATLAB).

Responsibilities

• Produce data visualizations that provide insight into dataset structure and meaning.
• Develop scripts to extract information from data formats including SQL tables and logs.
• Create feature vectors for analytic development and testing.
• Translate qualitative analytics processes into quantitative software prototypes.
• Develop and implement statistical, ML, and heuristic techniques for descriptive to prescriptive analytics.
• Develop statistical tests to inform data-driven decisions.
• Design experiments to collect data or simulate data when unavailable.
• Identify suitable algorithms and tune model parameters.
• Evaluate analytics with cross-validation, ROC curves, and confusion matrices.
• Guide analytic development toward scalable, production-ready solutions.
