Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a Data Scientist Level 2 to support the VISTA (MT&E Team). The role develops machine learning, data mining, statistical, and graph-based algorithms to analyze complex datasets and generate data-driven insights.

You will work with SMEs, software engineers, and cloud developers to translate mission needs into scalable analytic solutions. The position requires active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph, proficiency in Python and R, and a strong foundation in statistics and

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python and R for data manipulation and algorithms.
• Strong foundation in statistics, regression, hypothesis testing, and distributions.
• Knowledge of ML algorithms and frameworks (TensorFlow, Scikit-Learn).
• Experience wrangling data and transforming complex datasets into usable formats.
• Familiarity with SQL and databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau and Matplotlib.

Responsibilities

• Produce data visualizations that provide insight into dataset structure and meaning.
• Identify important information in raw data and develop scripts to extract it from SQL tables, metadata, and logs.
• Translate SME input into feature vectors for analytics development and testing.
• Develop and apply statistical, machine learning, and heuristic techniques for descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics.
• Evaluate analytics using cross-validation, ROC, and confusion matrices.
• Guide analytic development toward scalable production-ready analytics.
