Your job

Conceptualize, analyze, build, test, and implement data models utilizing diverse data sets to address employment and recruiting industry challenges. Build and deploy machine learning models, testing frameworks, and data visualizations to inform decision-making and influence the product roadmap. Proactively research data sources to identify new opportunities, guiding strategic product initiatives. Evaluate data comprehensively to solve business problems, applying knowledge of human behavior and focusing on impactful outcomes rather than isolated metrics. Communicate insights, findings, and recommendations clearly and persuasively to engineering, product management, and marketing teams. Improve data quality and analysis methodologies, leveraging a deep understanding of Indeed’s business fundamentals to prioritize high-value projects. Independently design and implement end-to-end data solutions spanning multiple components. Define requirements for loosely scoped work items and partner with team leads and product managers to plan and prioritize tasks. Identify data science and product improvement opportunities, and follow through on project impact post-deployment, refining models and processes as needed. Research and incorporate new technologies, tools, and best practices to enhance repeatability, reusability, and maintainability of data science solutions. Mentor junior data scientists and engineers, sharing technical knowledge, successes, and lessons learned. Participate in interviewing and recruiting activities to build a strong data science team.

Position is in Foster City, California. Up to 100% Telecommuting from anywhere in the U.S. is permitted.

Who you are

Primary Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a closely related quantitative field
• 5 years of professional industry experience working in Data Science, Business Analytics, or Data Analysis
• Demonstrated experience performing small data modeling, using at least one of the following languages: Python, R, Julia, or Octave
• Demonstrated experience performing data mining, using at least one of the following tools: SQL, Pandas, or MongoDB
• Demonstrated experience in production development of data science solutions, using at least one of the following languages: Java, Python, or C++.

Experience may be gained concurrently.

Alternative Minimum Requirements:

• Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a closely related quantitative field
• 3 years of experience working in Data Science, Business Analytics, or Data Analysis
• Demonstrated experience performing small data modeling, using at least one of the following languages: Python, R, Julia, or Octave
• Demonstrated experience performing data mining, using at least one of the following tools: SQL, Pandas, or MongoDB
• Demonstrated experience in production development of data science solutions, using at least one of the following languages: Java, Python, or C++

Experience may be gained concurrently.

Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable.

Salary Range Disclaimer

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Indeed salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Indeed's total compensation package for employees. Salary Range Transparency

Salary Range: $188,885 to $225,000 per year.
