Job summary

VT Group (VTG) is seeking a Data Scientist II in Chantilly, VA to independently analyze data and build models that support mission outcomes. You will create dashboards, translate questions into analytic approaches, and validate results for leadership.

The role requires 5–9 years of data analytics experience, proficiency in Python or R and SQL, and a TS/SCI with Poly clearance. You will present findings to diverse stakeholders and help integrate analytics into decision workflows.

Qualifications

• 5–9 years of data analytics or data science experience.
• Proficiency with Python or R and SQL.
• Experience with statistical analysis, modeling or ML techniques.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• TS/SCI with Poly security clearance required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, CS or related field.
• Preferred: IC/DoD/DOJ mission program experience; agile delivery.

Overview

VTG is looking for a Data Scientist in Chantilly, VA. Data Scientist II independently performs data analysis and modeling to support mission outcomes, providing actionable insights to government and program leadership.

• Design and maintain dashboards, visualizations, and analytic products
• Translate mission or business questions into analytic approaches and outputs
• Validate data quality, assumptions, and model results
• Present findings and recommendations to technical and non‑technical stakeholders
• Support integration of analytics into operational or decision‑support workflows

Do you have what it takes?

• TS/SCI with Poly Required
• 5-9 years of experience in data analytics or data science roles
• Strong proficiency with Python or R and SQL
• Experience with statistical analysis, modeling, or machine learning techniques
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience supporting IC, DoD, or DOJ mission programs, Experience working with operational, intelligence, or enterprise data, Familiarity with cloud‑based analytics environments, Experience with Agile delivery environments

This position is contingent upon contract award.

Pay Range: VTG’s estimated starting pay range is $105,000 - $205,000 annually, which is a general guideline for the geographic location. When extending an offer, VTG also considers work experience, education, skill level, market considerations and may possibly include contractual requirements which may cause an offer to fall outside of this range.
