Job summary

Truist Financial seeks a data scientist to perform sophisticated analytics—from econometrics to machine learning—on structured and unstructured data to drive business outcomes and minimize risk. You will build end-to-end analytics solutions, develop predictive models in Python/SAS/R, and create compelling visualizations for leadership to translate insights into strategy.

The role requires cross-team collaboration, strong communication, and adherence to data governance and responsible analytics

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field and 0–4+ years of experience.
• Solid understanding of statistics, including econometrics and time-series.
• Familiarity with linear algebra, calculus, and stochastic processes.
• Experience with data cleansing and preprocessing (regex, filtering, indexing).
• Data extraction experience (SQL, JQuery, etc.).
• Experience with Hadoop, Pig, Hive, Spark or NoSQL.
• Experience managing multiple projects with tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced data analytics using econometrics and ML methods.
• Develop predictive analytics applications in Python/SAS/R.
• Create visualizations to communicate insights to stakeholders.
• Lead end-to-end analytics projects delivering measurable outcomes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define objectives.
• Ensure data governance and compliance in analytics initiatives.
