Job summary

Amazon seeks a Data Scientist to join the PXT Central Science team in Arlington, VA. You will translate business challenges into quantitative models, build scalable solutions, and partner with engineers, scientists, and product leaders to improve employee experience for Amazonians worldwide.

Qualifications include 1+ years SQL/Python/R, 2+ years data science in large-scale settings, and a Master’s in STEM. PhD preferred; strong communication and documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of SQL/Python or statistical/mathematical software experience
• 2+ years of data/research scientist experience in an internet company with big data
• 1+ years creating or contributing to mathematical textbooks, research papers, or educational content
• Master's degree in STEM or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

• Own design, development, and maintenance of scalable models and prototypes using statistical, ML, or GenAI methods
• Partner with scientists, engineers, and product leaders to solve employee experience defects
• Author and maintain detailed technical documentation for projects
• Communicate results to diverse audiences through writing, visuals, and presentations
• Stay current with emerging methods and strategically implement them to increase impact
