Job summary

Peraton seeks a Data Scientist to design, develop, and deploy analytical and ML components for customer-facing products and internal POCs. You will lead end-to-end projects, perform EDA, build scalable pipelines, and collaborate with product teams to integrate analytics into broader designs.

The role requires strong Python and SQL skills, cloud experience, and the ability to communicate complex results clearly. US Citizenship and ability to obtain Public Trust are required.

Qualifications

• 5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA; 0 years with PhD
• Proficiency in Python and common data science libraries (Pandas, NumPy, SciKitLearn, Matplotlib/Seaborn)
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational or cloud-based data warehouses
• Experience with data pipelines, ETL/ELT logic, and model evaluation
• Familiarity with cloud or containerized environments (AWS, Azure, Databricks, or Docker)
• Ability to build ML pipelines with versioning, reproducibility, and CI/CD concepts (MLflow, SageMaker Pipelines)
• Clear, interpretable data visualizations and stakeholder communication
• US Citizenship is required; ability to obtain Public Trust clearance

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end analytical solution development from data exploration to model deployment
• Perform exploratory data analysis to identify insights and opportunities
• Architect and implement statistical and ML models (classical, ensemble, deep learning)
• Design scalable feature engineering pipelines and data workflows
• Develop prototype data pipelines and collaborate with engineering to productionize them
• Establish modeling best practices, validation frameworks, and experiment tracking
• Evaluate emerging techniques and tools to enhance product capabilities
• Create compelling visualizations and present findings to technical and nontechnical stakeholders
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to integrate analytics into product designs
• Participate in code reviews and cross-functional knowledge sharing
