Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Fort Worth, TX seeks a data scientist to model, simulate, and analyze data for the F-35 Sustainment program. You will collect, process, and translate insights into actionable business decisions using statistical methods and multi-criteria decision analysis.

Responsibilities include building data models, performing risk and life-cycle cost analyses, creating visualizations with Tableau, and collaborating with technical leads to improve Sustainment capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical discipline with emphasis in modeling, data manipulation, and statistical methods.
  • Experience in descriptive and predictive modeling, prescriptive modeling, and/or optimization.
  • AI/Machine learning experience and programming with Python or other high-level languages.
  • Experience with distributed databases and large datasets.
  • Strong data visualization skills and proficiency with statistical analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize modeling and simulation principles to conduct metrics assessments using industry tools.
  • Work with technical leads to implement improved Sustainment modeling and analysis capabilities.
  • Analyze F-35 performance to forecast issues, root causes, and corrective actions.
  • Build and validate data models and discrete event simulators.
  • Collect, clean, and manage quantitative and qualitative data; convert artifacts into visualizations using Tableau.

Perform modeling, simulation & analysis in support of the F-35 Sustainment program and will be responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing data to develop immersive stories that answer business questions. Using proven and sound statistical methods, the data scientist draws insights from data, and translates those insights into action that drive business results. The selected candidate should have the ability to perform analysis via multi-criteria decision modeling including statistical & risk analysis, life-cycle cost analysis, performance & cost trade-offs, and business case analysis. They should have a foundational understanding of a broad set of tools to be able to apply the right tool to each data exploration activity. The selected candidate will be responsible to:

  • Utilize modeling & simulation technical principles, theories, concepts, and techniques to conduct supportability and performance based logistics metrics assessments using commercial, government, and LM developed tools.
  • Work under the guidance of a technical lead to implement improved Sustainment modeling & analysis capabilities in several areas.
  • Analyze F-35 fielded performance developing solutions to assigned problems for the purpose of forecasting, root cause analysis, evaluation of potential solutions, and assessment of corrective actions.
  • Experience with the construction and execution of data models and discrete event simulators.
  • Experience with quantitative and qualitative data collection, data cleaning and management.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related technical discipline (Industrial, Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, etc), Physics, Data Science, Data Analysis, Physics, or Mathematics (use of stochastic and deterministic data models) or related technical disciplines with an emphasis in modeling, data manipulation, and/or the application of mathematical and statistical methods to business problems..
  • Experience in descriptive and predictive modeling, prescriptive modeling, and/or optimization.
  • AI/Machine learning
  • Programming experience with Python or other high-level language.
  • Experience with distributed databases and with large datasets
  • Strong data visualization skills and proficiency with statistical analysis

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $81100.00 - $150500.00

PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
