The Department of Public Works (DPW) Data, Analytics, and Research (DARA) Administration is hiring a Data Scientist based in Washington, DC. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and at least one year of specialized experience, plus a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science, or a field directly related to the position (at least at the baccalaureate level)
• One (1) year of specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Develops and manages performance management and quality improvement programs with a data-driven approach to set improvement priorities tied to ongoing strategic imperatives.
• Ensures agency-wide performance management and quality improvement initiatives focus on improving operational and program efficiencies and effectiveness in support of agency-wide goals and strategies.
• Ensures agency-wide performance management and quality improvement initiatives align with national standards and best practices.
• Develops computational algorithms and statistical methods to identify patterns and relationships across multiple database sources.
• Develops scripts, queries, or software code to meet specific requirements or complete defined tasks.
• Designs, builds, and tests data models, algorithms, and predictive models.
• Identifies and applies predictive modeling and machine learning techniques to strengthen program and operational processes and improve overall data quality.
