Job Description:

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Data Scientist, you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on a Data Scientist joining our remote team to utilize analytical, statistical, and programming skills to collect, analyze, and interpret large data sets, identify opportunities for product and process optimization, and develop models to test the effectiveness of different courses of action. You will mine and analyze CMS data, use various data tools, build and implement models, create algorithms, and run simulations. You will assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques, driving business results with data-based insights. Work visa sponsorship will not be provided for this role.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  1. Performing scientific work associated with analytical, statistical, and programming skills to analyze large data sets.
  2. Developing data-driven solutions to complex business challenges.
  3. Identifying opportunities for leveraging company data to drive solutions.
  4. Supporting and expanding existing AI solutions.
  5. Analyzing data and algorithms to make strategic recommendations aligned with client goals.
  6. Staying current on AI trends and regulations.
  7. Developing processes and machine learning tools to monitor model performance and data accuracy.
  8. Interpreting data and preparing reports for management and stakeholders.
  9. Managing data integrity, quality, and timely delivery.
  10. Planning, developing, testing, and documenting complex applications.
  11. Collaborating with end-users to analyze requirements and document procedures.
  12. Updating technical documentation such as user manuals and specifications.
  13. Performing testing procedures, analyzing results, and troubleshooting issues.
  14. Using predictive modeling to optimize customer experiences and business outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • 0+ years of related data experience
  • Experience working with CMS
  • Hands-on AI, data analysis, and machine learning experience
  • Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, C++
  • Knowledge of data analysis principles and methods
  • Experience with data visualization and dashboards
  • Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders
  • Must have lived in the US for at least 3 of the last 5 years
  • Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Tableau, Salesforce, and related tools
  • Experience managing large databases
  • Experience in Agile environments
  • Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint
  • Strong time management and organizational skills

Additional Information:

Salary range: $71,400 - $96,600, based on experience and location. Benefits include health plans, 401K, paid time off, and more. This position is remote, with no travel required. Work visa sponsorship is not provided.
