Job summary

The Bison Group is seeking a data scientist to help detect financial crime patterns in BSA/AML data. You will build and deploy ML models using Python/R, work with AWS services, and collaborate with compliance analysts to translate requirements into analyses.

Applicants should have 4–5 years of data science experience, a strong background in statistical modeling and machine learning, and hold a Top Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field is required.
• 4–5 years of data science with ML and statistical modeling.
• Experience with Python and R; AWS cloud services (S3, RDS, OpenSearch, Lambda).
• Top Secret clearance and knowledge of BSA/AML data.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy ML models to detect financial crime patterns using BSA/AML data.
• Perform EDA, feature engineering, and model validation in Python, PySpark, Pandas, and R.
• Query large datasets with SQL and analyze data in AWS S3, OpenSearch, and PostgreSQL RDS.
• Collaborate with compliance analysts to translate requirements into analyses.
• Produce visualizations and written findings for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Maintain data pipelines and model documentation.
• Participate in peer code reviews and establish data science best practices.
