Job summary

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory seeks a Data Scientist for the Digital Strategic Development team to lead data-driven solutions for instrumentation and control systems aboard US Navy carriers and submarines, leveraging AI/ML, model-based engineering, and automation.

You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to implement AI/ML models, support integration into software, produce justifications and plans, and help maintain CI/CD pipelines and cybersecurity considerations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related engineering or science field.
• Experience applying AI/ML to improve processes with risk considerations.
• Experience with Python and/or C++ programming.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps principles.

Responsibilities

• Implement data-driven solutions to improve I&C system development.
• Support AI/ML model integration into software applications.
• Consult on AI/ML use-case best practices and future needs.
• Prepare justifications, specifications, and plans to support project execution.
• Develop process controls and procedures.
• Coordinate assigned technical projects.
