Job summary

DLA Piper is seeking a data scientist to collect and explore large datasets, design data models, and develop predictive algorithms that improve business outcomes. You will work across teams to identify opportunities and manage data science projects from inception to deployment.

The role requires 5+ years applying data science techniques in a professional setting, strong proficiency in Python/R/SQL, and experience with AI, ML and analytics tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, statistics, applied mathematics or related field
• 5 years of relevant experience applying data science techniques to business functions
• Experience with data collection, exploration and modeling to improve business outcomes
• Experience building and evaluating machine learning models and data pipelines
• Strong communication skills for presenting insights to non-technical stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Works with internal stakeholders and clients to identify opportunities for leveraging organizational data to drive business solutions.
• Prioritizes, scopes and manages data science projects for internal stakeholders and clients.
• Mines and analyzes data to drive optimization and improvement of product development, marketing techniques and business strategies.
• Assesses the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
• Develops custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets.
• Uses predictive modeling to increase and optimize client opportunities and business outcomes.
• Writes computer programs and analyzes large datasets to uncover answers to complex problems.
• Develops testing frameworks and tests model quality.
• Coordinates with different functional teams to identify and implement models and monitor outcomes.
• Develops processes and tools to monitor and analyze modeling performance and data accuracy.
• Establishes best practices for data analysis and reporting.
• Other duties as assigned.
