Job summary

State of Wisconsin Investment Board is seeking a data-driven professional for our Data Services & Engineering Teams in Madison. You will develop analytical solutions and models to support investment portfolios, communicating complex data concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

You will use Python, SQL, and R to manipulate data, apply AI/ML techniques, and create visualizations with Power BI or Streamlit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in a relevant field.
• 1+ years of data science, data analytics, or investment analysis.
• Strong ability to convey complex data concepts to diverse audiences.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, or R for data manipulation and modeling.
• Experience applying AI/ML techniques to improve analysis.
• Knowledge of data quality frameworks and data validation practices.
• Experience deploying data solutions in cloud environments.
• Familiarity with data warehousing platforms like Snowflake.

Responsibilities

• Enable data-driven decision-making through analytical solutions and models.
• Convey complex data concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Use Python and SQL for data manipulation, analysis, and model development.
• Apply AI/ML techniques to enhance data analysis and decision-making.
• Serve as liaison between investment personnel and IT/Operations for process changes.
• Implement data quality frameworks and perform data validation.
• Develop and deploy models using regression, classification, and clustering.
• Create visualizations with Power BI or Streamlit to communicate findings.
• Deploy data solutions in cloud environments (Azure/AWS) and Snowflake.
• Support analytics initiatives with data warehousing technologies.
