Job summary

Lightcast, based in Moscow, ID, is hiring a Data Scientist for its Global Workforce Intelligence team. You will blend data science, consulting, and project delivery to help clients understand the labor market and build innovative data solutions.

You’ll work with economists, data scientists, engineers, and the Insights team on models, dashboards, and AI-enabled data products. Strong communication and independent work style are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience or strong skills in data science, statistics, and machine learning.
• Good Python and SQL skills; Snowflake or another cloud data warehouse is desirable.
• Experience with dashboarding and data visualisation tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Qlik.
• Proficiency with project management tools such as Jira, Asana, or similar.
• Strong project management, communication, and interpersonal skills, including experience managing customers from project scoping through delivery.
• Fluent English; French, German, Italian, or Spanish is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Deliver customer consulting and internal innovation projects using research, analytics, and creativity.
• Assess business requirements, identify solution options, and explain the trade-offs.
• Manage analytics projects from scoping through delivery, including timelines, risks, deliverables, customer relationships, resources, and budgets.
• Develop or fine-tune models through reproducible experiments.
• Contribute to the technical design of AI agents, data solutions, including dashboards.
• Explain machine learning and AI results and limitations to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Keep up with developments in data science and AI.
