Job Opportunity: Data Scientist at DSSP Consulting

DSSP Consulting is seeking an energetic, forward-thinking Data Scientist to support the Architect of the Capitol.

Location: 100% Remote

Employment Type: 1099, Part-time or Full-time (20-40 hours/week)

Salary: Up to approximately $90/hour

Position Responsibilities:

1. Provide planning, program management consultation, technical assistance, testing, and documentation writing to support the Chief Data Officer’s initiatives.
2. Modernize Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes.
3. Curate data sources in the agency data catalog.
4. Support testing of patches to the Financial Management System (Momentum), including custom reports and interfaces.
5. Support data marts, databases, tabular models, systems, reports, and interfaces, especially those impacted by ETL upgrades and migration from SSRS to PowerBI and Tableau.
6. Assist in designing, developing, and documenting new data lakehouse systems for agency analytics needs.
7. Provide expertise in modernizing the Payroll Corrections system, including requirements gathering, documentation, testing, and process improvements.
8. Assist the Data & Business Intelligence Division with WebForm development and operational reporting tasks, including SharePoint framework support.
9. Support the development, testing, and deployment of AI/ML projects in Azure cloud environment.
10. Contribute to the development and documentation of business processes related to Data Projects.
11. Support data governance activities, including requests review and monitoring for the Data Advisory and Technical Councils.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline plus 5-8 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with Data Lakehouse Systems.

Preferred Skills:

• Payroll process experience.
