Berry Appleman & Leiden LLP is seeking a Data Scientist to join the Business Intelligence and Insights Team in Richardson, TX on an onsite basis. You will apply advanced analytics, statistical methods, ML, and AI to turn enterprise data into insights supporting strategic decisions.

Responsibilities include building predictive models, analyzing large datasets, and developing scalable analytics across the firm using Python, Agentic AI, and tools like Power BI/Tableau.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, CS, Economics or related
  • Master's degree preferred in Data Science, Analytics, CS or related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in advanced analytics, data science, BI, or related disciplines
  • Proficiency in SQL and relational database concepts
  • Proficiency in Python for analytics, automation, ML, and AI applications
  • Experience with Agentic AI, LLMs, or AI platforms preferred
  • Strong predictive modeling, ML, statistics, and forecasting knowledge
  • Experience with large datasets, data warehouses, and enterprise reporting
  • Experience with Power BI or Tableau or similar tools
  • Experience with Cobalt or similar enterprise platforms preferred

  • Perform exploratory data analysis to surface actionable insights and business recommendations

  • Build and maintain analytical models supporting firm operations, financial performance, staffing, and client service
  • Develop and optimize data models using data from Cobalt and other enterprise systems
  • Evaluate emerging analytical tools, ML, and AI technologies
  • Create reusable analytical frameworks, tools, and methodologies for scalable analytics
  • Collaborate with internal teams to establish best practices for advanced analytics and model development
  • Explore and implement AI-enabled solutions to improve decision-making and efficiency
  • Use Python and Agentic AI to automate analytics workflows
  • Identify opportunities to apply ML and intelligent automation to business challenges
  • Support responsible use of emerging AI technologies across the firm
  • Support strategic planning through data-driven insights and performance analyses
  • Translate business requirements into analytical solutions that produce measurable outcomes
  • Partner with BI, Data Governance, and BI Development to promote enterprise analytics standards

Berry Appleman & Leiden LLP is seeking a Data Scientist to join the Business Intelligence and Insights Team in Richardson, TX on an onsite basis. In this role, you will apply advanced analytics, statistical methods, machine learning, and AI to turn enterprise data into insights that support strategic decision-making.

Working with data from Cobalt and other firm systems, you will develop predictive analytics and forecasting solutions, build and optimize analytical models, and help expand scalable analytics across the organization.

What you’ll do
  • Develop predictive models, statistical analyses, and forecasting solutions aligned to business objectives

  • Perform exploratory data analysis to surface actionable insights and business recommendations

  • Develop and optimize data models using data sourced from Cobalt and other enterprise systems
  • Evaluate emerging analytical tools, machine learning, and artificial intelligence technologies
  • Create reusable analytical frameworks, tools, and methodologies to support scalable analytics across the firm
  • Collaborate with internal teams to establish best practices for advanced analytics and model development
  • Explore, develop, and implement AI-enabled solutions that improve business decision-making and operational efficiency
  • Use Python and Agentic AI technologies to automate analytical workflows and accelerate insight generation

What you bring
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Analytics, or a related discipline
  • Master’s Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Analytics, Computer Science, or related field preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in advanced analytics, data science, business intelligence, or related disciplines
  • Proficiency in SQL and relational database concepts
  • Proficiency in Python for analytics, automation, machine learning, and AI applications
  • Experience working with Agentic AI, large language models (LLMs), artificial intelligence platforms, or intelligent automation technologies preferred
  • Strong understanding of predictive modeling, machine learning, statistical methods, and forecasting techniques
  • Experience working with large datasets, data warehouses, and enterprise reporting environments
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization tools
  • Experience with Cobalt or similar enterprise business platforms preferred
  • Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to translate complex analytical findings into actionable business recommendations
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and a commitment to data quality
  • Self-starter who can manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
  • Professional services or law firm experience preferred
