Job summary

PlanIT Group, LLC is seeking a Data Scientist onsite in Raleigh to identify business trends through complex big data analysis and to interpret results from multiple sources.

You will design, develop and implement data models, prepare big data, and build databases to support business solutions; requires 13–20 years of experience, degree preferred, and strong SQL/Python or R skills. Excellent communication and cross-industry adaptability are expected.

Responsibilities

• Data Analysis and Visualization: deliver rapid analysis scripts, interactive dashboards and reports; ensure quality and timely delivery.
• Modeling and Optimization: build mathematical models, provide source code and documentation for product development; present project results.

Job Title: Data Scientist onsite in Raleigh.

Description: Identifies business trends and problems through complex big data analysis. Interprets results from multiple sources using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to complex data mining independently. Designs, develops and implements the most valuable business solutions for the organization. Prepares big data, implements data models and develops database to support the business solutions.

List Of Tasks To Be Performed

Task #1: Data Analysis and Visualization Development

Deliverables will be tailored to each project and may include:

• Rapid analysis scripts
• Visualization prototypes / models
• Interactive dashboards
• Visioning session materials
• Analysis reports and presentations
• Project plans and documentation

The deliverable shall meet the following acceptance criteria in addition to compliance with the technical approach outlined below:

• Analysis techniques are appropriate for the given need and available data
• Project timelines are met within a reasonable variance due to uncertainty of the individual project
• Project documentation is accurate to the analysis findings and free of grammatical errors
• Products meet the Business Unit's needs and are usable by the Business Unit with minimal training

Task #2: Modeling and Optimization

Deliverables Are Project-dependent And May Include

• Mathematical optimization models
• Source code and/or scripting
• Translational documentation for use in analytical and visualization product development
• Proposal presentations
• Project result documentation and presentations

The deliverable must meet the following acceptance criteria in addition to compliance with the technical approach outlined below:

• Model parameters and functions are appropriate for the given need and available data
• Project timelines are met within a reasonable variance due to uncertainty of the individual project
• Project documentation is accurate to the analysis findings and free of grammatical errors
• Products meet the Business Unit's needs and are usable by the Business Unit with minimal training

Required Certification/Experience Level/Education That Displays The Following

• Some academic criteria for data science - Ex. Data science, statistics, or experimental psych. Skilled in SQL, Python or R, preferably both. Have good communication skills, and some proven ability to work in a variety of industries, indicating ability to be a quick study when confronted with the complex environment.

Education Requirements

• A minimum of thirteen (13) to twenty (20) years' relevant experience
• A degree from an accredited College/University in the applicable field of services is preferred. four additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a college degree is required. If the individual's degree is not in the applicable field, then four additional years of related experience is required.
