Job summary

CACI International Inc. is seeking a Data Scientist in Bethesda, MD, to advance maintenance detection algorithms for Boeing F/A-18 aircraft. You will gather and preprocess large datasets, write scalable code, and develop anomaly detection models to improve fleet readiness and maintenance actions.

You will collaborate with Aerospace Engineers, Software Engineers, and maintenance staff while leveraging MATLAB, Python, PowerBI, and SQL to deliver robust analytical solutions. U.S.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is required in Mechanical/Aerospace/CS.
  • Proficiency in Python and MATLAB.
  • Strong problem-solving and teamwork abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and preprocess large datasets from sensors, logs, and operations.
  • Write clean, scalable code following best practices.
  • Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends and anomalies.
  • Design and implement anomaly detection algorithms for maintenance data.
  • Develop ML models to detect failures or malfunctions.
  • Collaborate with engineers and maintenance personnel.

Your expertise will enhance the Navy’s F/A-18 fleet readiness by developing case studies and anomaly detection algorithms for aircraft maintenance actions.Responsibilities:Gather, clean, and preprocess large datasets from various aircraft sensors, maintenance logs, and operational data.Write clean, efficient, and scalable code following best practices and coding standards to ensure maintainability and long-term performance of applications.Preform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in aircraft performance and maintenance data.Design and implement anomaly detection algorithms to identify unusual behaviors in aircraft data.Develop machine learning models to detect component failures or malfunctions.Collaborate with Aerospace Engineers, Software Engineers, Maintenance Personnel, and other project stakeholders.Qualifications:Required:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Computer Science.0-3 years of job experience.Strong knowledge of MATLAB and Python.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.Candidate must be a US Citizen, and able to obtain a DoD Secret Clerance.Desired:Active DoD Secret Clerance.CompTIA Security + Certification.Experience with PowerBI and SQL.-What You Can Expect: A culture of integrity.At CACI, we place character and innovation at the center of everything we do.
