Sotalent is seeking an Advanced Data Scientist in Atlanta to lead the development and deployment of cutting-edge ML models that drive business value across industrial tech platforms.

You will collaborate with application architects and data engineers to integrate insights into our AI-driven software, leveraging AWS/GCP/Azure, Spark, PyTorch, and TensorFlow to scale solutions across IoT, cloud, and analytics suites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field as stated.
• 4+ years prototyping with Python in a commercial environment.
• 4+ years applying ML to physical processes, systems, or hardware.
• Proven expertise with Spark or distributed storage/compute.
• 4+ years building/deploying models on AWS/Azure/GCP.
• Hands-on with PyTorch, TensorFlow or Keras.
• Production pipelines via containerized microservices or orchestrated batch runs.
• US Person status per export control laws.

We are currently recruiting for an Advanced Data Scientist to join a premier global industrial technology leader at their Atlanta location. My client is a pioneer in digital transformation, utilizing a sophisticated AI center of excellence to enhance operational productivity, safety, and sustainability across multiple sectors including smart manufacturing, supply chain, and cybersecurity.

In this role, you will be part of a high-achieving global team dedicated to building and deploying innovative AI and Machine Learning models. You will collaborate with application architects and data engineers to integrate your findings into operational platforms, helping to drive business growth through data-driven insights. Your work will directly influence the development of the company’s flagship software platform, contributing to a suite of tools that leverage IoT, cloud computing, and advanced analytics.

Primary Responsibilities

Develop and launch innovative machine learning models that generate significant business value.

Recommend technical solutions using diverse data science methodologies and hypothesis testing.

Define data acquisition strategies and participate in the governance of the corporate analytics strategy.

Promote data science best practices and processes across various business functions.

Report directly to the Director of Artificial Intelligence.

Required Qualifications

A Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related STEM discipline.

At least 4 years of professional experience in a commercial environment prototyping with Python.

At least 4 years of experience applying machine learning to physical processes, systems, or hardware.

Proven expertise with distributed storage and compute tools such as Spark.

At least 4 years of experience building and deploying models on cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks including PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Keras.

Demonstrated experience building and deploying production pipelines using containerized microservices or orchestrated batch runs.

Due to compliance with export control laws, candidates must be a US Person, which includes US citizens, permanent residents, or those with protected status.

Preferred Skills and Experience

Advanced degree such as a Master or PhD in a relevant STEM field.

Familiarity with MLOps best practices and implementation strategies.

Experience working with Large Language Models and Natural Language Processing.

Ability to collaborate effectively with remote and international teams.

A results-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to problem solving.
