Job Description

AbbVie Data Science is a best-in-class team responsible for integrating people, process, and technology to generate business value from clinical trials data. Our operational model emphasizes execution and innovation. This role is crucial for ensuring successful delivery of program- and study-level responsibilities within Data and Statistical Sciences (DSS).

  1. Aligns DSS study teams with program- and study-level strategies, supports governance, and manages programs of varying size and complexity.
  2. Serves as the primary operational contact and lead from DSS for assigned programs, coordinating global teams to meet objectives and engaging cross-functional stakeholders.
  3. Interacts with management and team members at all levels to achieve program goals, representing DS in forums and leadership meetings.
  4. Uses analytics and project management tools to optimize execution, manage resources, track progress, and report status, proactively addressing potential issues.
  5. Ensures compliance with regulations, GCPs, ICH guidelines, SOPs, and quality standards; participates in audits and inspections.
  6. Oversees vendor performance and provides operational feedback.
  7. Coaches and mentors team members, supporting their development.
  8. Leads innovation and process improvement initiatives within DSS and cross-functionally.
  9. If assigned, identifies training needs, standardizes training, and conducts lessons learned sessions.
  10. May supervise staff and contract resources.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields; Master’s preferred. PMP or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt desired.
  • 8+ years in pharma/clinical research/data management/healthcare or 10+ years project management experience.
  • Deep understanding of clinical trial processes, stakeholders, and technology; experience leading clinical trials.
  • Proven ability to influence, coach, and communicate effectively; strong analytical skills.
