North Carolina State University is seeking a Data Science Librarian to provide expert consultative support and training in data science and visualization. The successful candidate will lead workshops, collaborate with faculty, and contribute to the Libraries’ Strategic Plan.

Work Schedule: University Business hours are Monday - Friday 8AM - 5PM. The Libraries supports flexible work arrangements based on departmental and operational needs. This position will require frequent onsite work. Exempt position.

NC State University Libraries promotes innovative services and spaces for students, faculty, and researchers. The James B. Hunt Jr. Library and D. H. Hill Jr. Library host advanced technologies, collaborative spaces, and data‑science facilities such as the Dataspace and the Data Experience Lab. The Data Science Services (DSS) team offers consultation, workshops, and instruction across the data lifecycle.
The Data Science Librarian provides expert consultative support, workshop‑based training, and course‑integrated instruction for students, faculty, and researchers in data science and visualization. Responsibilities include leading support around tabular data, spreadsheet tools, and visualizations; designing and delivering workshops; collaborating with faculty and campus partners; contributing to departmental initiatives; and mentoring graduate student consultants. The role aligns with the Libraries’ Strategic Plan, participates in planning, and serves on library‑wide committees.
