Job summary

TWG Group Holdings, LLC (TWG Global) is seeking a highly motivated Data Science Intern to join our MAQR team in Santa Monica, CA. The role targets graduate students pursuing a Master’s degree in a technical discipline who are eager to apply their skills to real-world data projects.

You will work with senior researchers on projects bridging advanced quantitative methods, ML, and financial applications, gaining exposure to workflows of a leading quantitative research team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field; pursuing a Master’s degree.
• Strong Python programming skills and experience with data science libraries (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn).
• Solid foundation in probability, statistics, and linear algebra.
• Familiarity with Git and basic software engineering practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Interest in learning from senior researchers and contributing to research projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist in building, cleaning, and analyzing large datasets including financial market and insurance data.
• Develop and evaluate statistical and ML models for forecasting and risk analysis.
• Implement algorithms in Python and related tools.
• Contribute to AI/ML projects across time series, optimization, and conversational AI.
• Perform exploratory data analysis to identify patterns and signals.
• Document findings and present results clearly to the team.
• Collaborate with senior researchers to test ideas and validate models.
• Ensure projects meet trust, transparency, safety, and regulatory standards.
