University of California, Berkeley's Data Science Undergraduate Studies (DSUS) invites applications for a pool of qualified temporary lecturers to teach DSUS courses should an opening arise. Screening of applicants is ongoing and will continue as needed.

The number of positions varies by semester and needs of the unit. Responsibilities include teaching Foundations of Data Science and related courses, holding office hours, grading, advising students, preparing syllabi, and maintaining course

Qualifications

• Must have an advanced degree or be enrolled in an advanced degree program at the time of application.
• Advanced degree. Candidates must already be authorized to work in the United States.
• Preferred qualifications include a Ph.D. or equivalent international degree in computer science, statistics, information, applied mathematics, engineering, or the social sciences.
• Ability to support the success of all students through inclusive curriculum, classroom environment, and pedagogy.

Responsibilities

• Teach Data Science Undergraduate Studies courses, including Foundations and related topics, depending on needs of the unit.
• Hold office hours, assign grades, advise students, and prepare course materials (e.g., syllabus) and maintain the course website.
• Contribute to course design and syllabus development for connector courses linking Foundations of Data Science with other disciplines.
