Job summary

Strategic Mindz LLC is seeking a Data Reporting Analyst to design, build, and maintain the reporting layer, data pipelines, and analytics products supporting operations and mandated reporting. The role sits at the intersection of data engineering and business intelligence, translating operational data into dashboards and reports for stakeholders.

The ideal candidate has advanced SQL skills, hands-on BI tool experience (Power BI/Tableau/SSRS/Cognos/MicroStrategy), and strong data modeling

Qualifications

• Professional experience in data reporting, business intelligence, or analytics development.
• Advanced SQL skills, including query optimization and performance tuning against large datasets.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise BI/reporting tools: Power BI, Tableau, SSRS, Cognos, or MicroStrategy.
• Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT processes using Informatica, SSIS, Talend, dbt, or equivalent.
• Relational databases knowledge: SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or DB2.
• Experience with dimensional data modeling and data warehouse design principles.
• Ability to gather reporting requirements from non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong data validation, reconciliation, and QA practices.
• Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain operational and analytical reports, dashboards, and data visualizations.
• Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines to move data into the data warehouse or reporting layer.
• Write, tune, and troubleshoot complex SQL and performance-critical queries.
• Develop and maintain data models supporting reporting and analytics.
• Produce recurring state and federal compliance reports with accuracy and timeliness.
• Gather reporting requirements from non-technical stakeholders and translate into specs.
• Implement data quality checks, reconciliation logic, and validation rules.
• Support ad-hoc data requests and analysis for leadership.
• Document data definitions, lineage, business rules, and report specifications.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and release activities.
• Troubleshoot data discrepancies across source systems and outputs.
