Job summary

Pratt & Whitney is offering an internship to work within the Data Recording Operations team, part of the Engineering, Development Operations, Test organization. You will help set up test facilities, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems for engine testing.

You will learn hands-on instrumentation and data acquisition, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration in jet engine test operations, while gaining practical experience in a fast‑paced aerospace environment.

Qualifications

  • Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical, Computer, or Electrical Engineering, or a STEM Major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co‑op session.
  • Fluent in English (verbal/written)

Responsibilities

  • Set up of test facilities to support engine testing.
  • Set up of instrumentation measurement systems to support engine testing.
  • Consult and coordinate with engineering and customer groups to establish requirements.
  • Troubleshooting and calibration of devices in the test facility or lab, and operation of data acquisition systems during validation testing.

What You Will Do

The Data Recording Operations team is a part of Pratt & Whitney’s Engineering, Development Operations, Test organization. This team performs a wide variety of technical tasks in support of engine instrumentation and test facility readiness for development and production testing.

  • Set up of test facilities to support engine testing.
  • Set up of instrumentation measurement systems to support engine testing.
  • Consult and coordinate with engineering and customer groups to establish requirements.
  • Troubleshooting and calibration of devices in the test facility or lab, and operation of data acquisition systems during validation testing.

Qualifications You Must Have

Qualifications We Prefer
  • Knowledge of instrumentation including thermocouples, pressure transducers, load cells, voltage meters, and flow meters.
  • Knowledge of data acquisition systems and software.
  • Knowledge of electronics, data analysis, thermodynamics, fluids, and jet engine performance.
  • Experience with testing and verification
  • Experience working on cross-functional teams

Relocation Eligibility

This position is classified as: Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
