Job summary

RTX's Pratt & Whitney unit in Middletown, CT is seeking a student intern/co-op to join the Data Recording Operations team. You will assist in setting up test facilities and instrumentation for engine testing, and help calibrate devices and data acquisition systems during validation.

You will learn hands-on instrumentation, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration while contributing to jet engine test operations and engineering goals.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Mechanical, Computer, or Electrical Engineering, or a STEM Major and enrolled through the internship.
• Fluent in English (verbal/written).
• Knowledge of instrumentation including thermocouples, pressure transducers, load cells, voltage meters, and flow meters.

Responsibilities

• Set up of test facilities to support engine testing.
• Set up of instrumentation measurement systems to support engine testing.
• Consult and coordinate with engineering and customer groups to establish requirements.
• Troubleshooting and calibration of devices in the test facility or lab, and operation of data acquisition systems during validation testing.

What You Will Do:

• The Data Recording Operations team is a part of Pratt & Whitney's Engineering, Development Operations, Test organization. This team performs a wide variety of technical tasks in support of engine instrumentation and test facility readiness for development and production testing.
• Set up of test facilities to support engine testing.
• Set up of instrumentation measurement systems to support engine testing.
• Consult and coordinate with engineering and customer groups to establish requirements.
• Troubleshooting and calibration of devices in the test facility or lab, and operation of data acquisition systems during validation testing.

• Relocation Eligibility

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
